The development strategy aims to transform Bahrain into an innovate 21st century country. The plan is designated to address the role of sustainable land use developent in guaranteeing predictable and long term economic growth. The plan narrows down on issues such as natural resources, inadequate housing, and insuffiecent public spaces.

COMMENTS
The National Planning and development strategy is not an explicit NUP, however it is the first of its kind in the Persian/ Arab Gulf.
