FOCUS
The policy focuses on increasing economic growth, quality of life, and innovations in Dutch cities. The policy is based on three principles: 1. to promote the growth of cities and differentiate themselves, 2. to co-operate between urban developments and encourage cities to work together, and 3. to create conditions for innovation that will improve the quality of life and attract developers by fostering networks of data, energy, and transport infrastructure.
COMMENTS
The explicit NUP is being formulated. Initial proposal was submitted to the House of Representatives in June of 2015

Netherlands NUP does address a spatial coherent territory that includes a balanced system for human settlement. Cities and towns along the urban, periurban and rural continum is also focussed in the Netherlands NUP.
