The strategy has outer island and Falekaupule development as a key strategy and has different priorities such as good governance, economic growth, improved basic infrastructure, social development. Each priority plays a vital role in attaining the “Vision”, which is to achieve a healthier a more educated, peaceful, prosperous Tuvalu. Under “Social Development,” the National Strategy has housing as a key objective, including improving housing standards and improving the provision and availability of housing, reviewing land leases to afford greater security and “develop an urban management plan for Funafuti that offers land for residential development.
